Our sustainability goals and progress
Our eight sustainability goals (2023-2026)
In order to steer our business towards the goal of creating sustainable economic conditions for people and businesses and to measure our progress along the way, we have announced eight sustainability goals, seven to be reached by 2026 and one reduction target to be realised by 2030.

Governance
We are committed to responsible business conduct and a strong corporate culture, focusing on ethical practices, accountability, and effective oversight in areas such as anti-corruption, supplier relationships, and compliance to foster trust and long-term resilience.
Environmental goals
Intrum is committed to reducing its environmental footprint by actively working to lower emissions across Scopes 1, 2, and 3. We focus on improving energy efficiency in our offices, optimising business travel, and transitioning to renewable energy sources where possible. By continuously measuring and reducing our emissions, we aim to align with our climate targets and contribute to the transition toward a low-carbon economy. These efforts support United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 13, Climate Action, particularly Target 13.2, by integrating climate measures into our policies and operations.
Goal: Climate neutrality and reduce total emissions
Intrum is committed to a sustainable future, setting an ambitious goal to achieve climate neutrality by 2030. As part of this commitment, we aim to reduce our total emissions by 20% compared to 2019 levels. This goal reflects our dedication to minimising our environmental impact and contributing meaningfully to global climate action. We measure our climate footprint within scope 1, 2 and 3 of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. This reflects our commitment to minimising our environmental impact and supporting SDG 13.2, by integrating climate actions into operational strategies.
Goal: Set a new baseline for emissions
We aim to establish a new baseline that addresses emission categories relevant to our business and activities, enabling precise measurement and targeted actions to reduce emissions effectively. This connects with SDG 13.2, by enabling us to identify targeted opportunities for climate integration within our operations
Goal: Reduction target to align with the Paris Agreement
Aligning our emissions reductions with the Paris Agreement underscores our ambition to contribute to global climate efforts, connecting with SDG 13.2, by prioritising alignment with internationally recognised climate goals.
Social goals
Intrum is dedicated to fostering ethical practices, promoting financial stability, and creating a supportive workplace for employees. By treating customers with fairness and respect, empowering our clients, and investing in talent and diversity, we contribute to a more resilient and inclusive economy. These initiatives connect directly to United Nation's Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8, promoting decent work and economic growth, and SDG 5, focusing on gender equality..
Goal: Ethical collection by treating customers fairly
We are committed to fair and respectful interactions with customers, helping them address their financial challenges while supporting their reintegration into the financial system. The customer satisfaction survey gathers feedback to help us improve our processes and strive for higher satisfaction levels. This aligns with SDG 8.10, which focuses on improving access to financial services, by promoting inclusive and ethical practices in debt collection.
Goal: Sound finances for our clients
Meeting the needs of our clients is essential to supporting their financial health and building long-term partnerships. The client satisfaction survey helps us align with their needs, improve our services, and support their liquidity, as we strive to continuously raise satisfaction levels. This goal connects with SDG 8.3, which focuses on fostering entrepreneurship and job creation through fair financial practices..
Goal: Attracting and retaining talents
A highly engaged workforce is key to fostering innovation, retaining talent, and driving business success. The employee engagement index reflects our commitment to creating a meaningful and stimulating workplace, guiding us in enhancing wellbeing and fostering engagement as we strive to continuously improve this measure. By creating a meaningful and supportive workplace, we contribute to SDG 8.8, which promotes safe working environments and labour rights.
Goal: Increase women on the Board and in Group Management Team
Diversity in leadership enhances our ability to meet the needs of clients and customers, while driving innovation and sustainable business growth. Increasing the representation of women in the Board and Group Management Team reflects our commitment to fostering inclusion and creating balanced decision-making structures. Diversity in leadership enhances decision-making and innovation. This connects with SDG 5.5, which aims to ensure full participation of women in leadership and decision-making processes.
Governance goals
At Intrum, responsible governance is about fostering a strong corporate culture that prioritises ethical practices, integrity, and accountability. By embedding these principles into our decision-making, we build trust with clients, partners, and communities while promoting transparency and responsible practices across our activities. Our governance efforts align with United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 8 focusing on accountability and ethical practices that promote fair labour standards and responsible decision-making.
Goal: Culture index
A strong corporate culture is essential to fostering ethical practices, accountability, and trust throughout our organisation. The Culture Index measures how well we embody our core values—Empathy, Ethics, Dedication, and Solutions—through our employee survey, guiding us in strengthening governance and upholding responsible business practices. This aligns with SDG 8.8, supporting efforts to ensure fair and transparent workplace practices that reflect our commitment to responsible governance.
