Our commitments

Our commitments consist of the various sustainability-linked international agreements and frameworks we adhere to and support. These reflect our determination to conduct responsible banking, manage risks and support a sustainable development in general.

We support the following international frameworks

Since 2016

UN Global Compact

We have been a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact since 2016. This is the world’s largest sustainability initiative among companies. As a signatory, we have committed to implement the ten principles on human rights, labour rights, environment and anti-corruption into our business.

UN Sustainable Development Goals

We have also aligned with the United Nations Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals. We consider all goals to be important, and we have selected three goals where we see high potential to contribute: Goal five – Gender equality, Goal eight – Decent work and economic growth and Goal 13 – Climate action.

The Task Force on Climate Related Financial Disclosure (TCFD)

TCFD was created to develop a set of recommendations for voluntary climate-related financial disclosures for use by companies in providing information to investors, lenders, insurers, and other stakeholders. We declared our support for the initiative in 2021 and are continuously aligning with the reporting recommendations.

Since 2018

Global Reporting Initiative - GRI

The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) serves as a globally recognised standard for sustainability reporting, guiding businesses in disclosing their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance. The GRI framework enables companies to report on their sustainability impacts, initiatives, and commitments.

GRI’s standards cover a wide scope, including greenhouse gas emissions, labour practices, human rights, and community engagement. It is a trusted benchmark used by organisations worldwide to enhance transparency, improve sustainability practices, and communicate ESG performance to stakeholders.

At Intrum, we have reported in alignment with GRI since 2018. From the 2022 reporting year, our Sustainability Report is fully prepared in accordance with GRI Standards 2021.

Since 2021

UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights

The UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) provide a structured approach for businesses to understand and uphold their responsibilities towards human rights. In January 2021, Intrum conducted its first Human Rights Impact Assessment, using the UNGPs framework to pinpoint the most significant human rights risks related to our operations.
