Rising bills outpace incomes
Nearly half (45%) of European consumers report that their bills are increasing at a higher rate than their incomes, leading to significant financial stress and impacting overall wellbeing.
Increased reliance on borrowing
One in four (24%) consumers admit to borrowing money to pay bills, indicating a growing trend of financial instability, particularly among younger generations.
Overestimation of financial literacy
While 69% of consumers believe they have sufficient financial education, 37% struggle to define basic financial terms, highlighting a crucial gap in actual financial knowledge.
